此部電影改編自同名小說「Mary Poppins」，主角Mary Poppins由Julie Andrews 茱莉安德魯飾演一位會魔法的保姆，片中Banks家的爸媽平常很忙，沒時間陪小孩，而兩位小孩更是頑皮的反抗，把原本照顧他們的保姆氣走。Mary Poppins到這個家庭，幫助兩位小朋友重拾歡樂、克服生活中的困難，也讓兩位無暇顧及孩子的父母體會到親情的可貴。
這部電影除了歌曲作者有很大的功勞，有Julie Andrews擔任女主角也是大家喜愛的原因啊！她的歌聲真的好棒！她因這部電影拿下奧斯卡最佳女主角之後，才接演「真善美」的。(這樣大家是不是對她的歌聲更有印象呢？）
片中「Feed the birds」是Walt Disney最喜歡的一首歌！當時雪曼兄弟彈唱了這首歌給Walt Disney先生聽了以後，迪士尼先生非常感動，馬上和兩兄弟簽約，希望他們能一起完成這部劇作。
這首歌曲很溫柔，Mary Poppins用唱的方式，講老奶奶的故事給孩子聽，唱著唱著兩姐弟就睡著了。歌曲的大意是，路邊有個賣麵包屑的老奶奶，呼喊著請大家來買一袋兩便士的麵包屑，用麵包屑餵鳥兒，你會感到開心，來買吧！一袋麵包屑只要兩便士，餵鳥兒會讓你開心起來！

1 ♪ 家長可以效仿電影，講老奶奶的故事，教導孩子同理心、慈悲心，然後哼唱這首歌當晚安曲。（不一定歌詞都要記住，只要哼旋律也很好聽喔～）
2 ♪♪ 家長可以抱著寶貝，隨著音樂輕輕左右搖擺。非常輕微且緩慢，隨著音樂依三拍子為一單位擺動。
3 ♪♪♪ 在家裡餵寵物、或帶孩子出門餵魚、餵鴿子的時候，也很適合唱這首歌。歌詞可以改為 feed the dogs、feed the cats、feed the fish等。
電影上映40年後，改編為音樂劇演出，歌曲和呈現方式都與電影不同，可惜已經下檔了，只有零星的巡迴演出。Ｗ有幸幾年前在紐約百老匯看過，現場感受很不同呢！

「A Spoon full of Sugar」（一湯匙的糖）Julie Andrews和那隻類似赤腹山雀的鳥兒二重奏真好聽～ 家裡的小搗蛋生病不肯吃藥的時候，很好用！
「Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious」是超級有趣又搞怪的拼字歌，一起拿起樂器或棒子敲打！
